About the wine
The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter a winemaker and turned everything upside down that the glorious times of the 1960s to the 80s were built on again. The estate only has large vineyards and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of prime locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is being showered with lots of praise, points and awards.

Tasting note
Hero figure - elegant, agitated, like Tannhäuser am Venusberg, seemingly peace, meadows and herbs, yet so auspicious the barely comprehensible, varied tempting fruit, exotic and berries, rich, the bitter freshness, bright excitement over the volcano, mineral, smoky, flint - here you can eat yourself. On the palate, this size, tension, this agitated fullness, so mineral, tart, wrestles and finds inner peace, ripe orange fruit, distant warmer tones, banishes the distinctive tart, fresh energy. What a Riesling, daring and so elegant and sublime at the end.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Vom Vulkan Schlossbockelheimer Riesling trocken passt hervorragend zu Ente, Pilzen und indischer Küche.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Long maceration period of the crushed grapes, spontaneous fermentation and maturation of several months on full yeast in steel tanks.
