About the wine
What Markus Schneider has achieved in recent years is hard to believe. In 1994, he started from scratch, so to speak. And today, 22 years later, he and his team process over 92 hectares, fill around 800,000 bottles a year and is described by the German trade press as The Phenomenon and The Favourite of the Young Scene.

Tasting note
Aromas of black berries, dark chocolate and orange zest. On the palate, with a dense tannin structure, full of spice and dark fruit aromas. A juicy, mineral, elegant red wine with lots of palate pressure.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with braised beef or lamb, hearty BBQ dishes, game ragout, spicy pasta with salsiccia and aged hard cheese. It is also an exciting companion to dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the highly ripe grapes are subjected to traditional maceration in a wooden vat followed by maceration of 20 days. It is then gently pressed and the wine is stored in new (60%) and multi-year wooden barrels (40%) without external intervention.
