About the wine
This dominant Shiraz 2015 — Tellus IGP crowns every festive meal with elegance and finesse. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Falesco masters this red wine in the blooming and sunny countryside of Lazio. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Shiraz with game or barbecue.
Tasting note
Intense ruby with purple reflections. Strong and tight in the nose. Ripe, sweet cherries, a touch of warm spices, toasted notes, some vanilla. Flattering on the palate, with soft tannins and a rich structure. Lots of ripe fruit, again toasted notes. The wine ends with a long, powerful finish.
Culinary recommendation
We love it with pasta with spicy sugo or with a juicy roast.
Vinification
Immediately after harvesting, the grapes are cold macerated at 18—20°C for five days in order to optimally develop their natural freshness and characteristic fruity scent. Fermentation is then continued at a temperature of 25-27°C. The Syrah matures for five months in used barriques to give the fruity wine only subtle roasted notes. Interesting fact: The image of the Tellus wine has been linked to the world of art right from the start. The label, which was redesigned with the 2009 vintage, was created on the occasion of an event at Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome, where a group of artists recorded the impressions of enthusiastic wine lovers on canvas during a tasting session.
