About the wine
We have a special, strong Shiraz from 2013 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. Fertile and sunny landscapes of the coastal region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the South African winery Glen Carlou Vineyard conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a dining experience when you serve this Shiraz with roasted vegetables or game.

Tasting note
Soft aromas of plums and blackberries, framed with a light bouquet of star anise. When the wine opens, lush berries and a scented background with hints of cloves and lavender are revealed. Subtle peppercorns and caraway complement the spicy notes of structured tannins on the palate. A tempting wine in a final style with an unmistakable Rhone reference. The preservation of bright natural acidity gives it excellent freshness with a well-integrated, mature and powerful middle palate.
Culinary recommendation
Syrah goes particularly well with fried pork belly and richly braised meats.
Vinification
50% of the entire harvest was fermented spontaneously and 50% vaccinated. Fermentation was initiated in open 4-ton tanks. To maximize extraction, pumping and squeezing was carried out regularly. After fermentation was complete, the wine was left on the skins for 20 days. French oak and a small amount of American oak were used to age barrels for 16 months - divided into 50% new barrels and 50% into 225l breaded barrels.
