About the wine
Since 1578, the Stodden family has been committed to viticulture in the Ahr Valley. Doing everything possible to complete wine in harmony with nature is the philosophy of the family. Even when pruning, we work towards the goal of quality rather than quantity. If the vine still produces too much fruit, additional green grapes are cut out in summer. Late hand harvesting and strict sorting are just as natural as the careful processing of the grapes, which are completed in oak barrels and barriques.
Tasting note
The nose smells intensely of ripe cherry fruit and subtle smoky notes. On the palate, a fresh, firm Pinot with good intensity and length.
Vinification
The hand-picked grapes are strictly selected on the sorting belt in the vineyard and in the winery and fermented on the mash for 14 days in a temperature-controlled manner, without stalks. During the 16-month aging and storage in barriques, the biological acid degradation takes place.
