Tasting note
Las Lombas is presented in glass with a bright purple-red color, which reflects its youth and freshness. On the nose, the wine develops a bouquet of floral notes, accompanied by ripe red fruit aromas and subtle minerality. Spicy nuances round off the aroma profile. On the palate, Las Lombas has great volume and good concentration. The rich aromas of red fruits continue and are accompanied by an elegant spiciness. The aftertaste is long-lasting and sophisticated.
Culinary recommendation
Goes excellently with Mediterranean dishes of all kinds — from seafood to pasta to tapas, lamb stews, intensive grilled dishes, vegetables, black olives and much more.
Vinification
The approximately 40-year-old Garnacha vines for Las Lombas are harvested at the end of October. The vinification is carried out by cold pre-pressing in 25kg boxes at 6°C for 5 days. This is followed by fermentation for seven days at 28°C, followed by a secondary fermentation maceration of 25 days to maximize the extraction of color and aromas. Las Lombas is then aged for 6 months in 225 liter barrels to develop additional complexity and texture.
