About the wine

Primitivo di Manduria Riserva — Premium Edition (Uno Series) comes from the Masseria la Volpe winery in the heart of Apulia and is considered the flagship of the Serie Uno line. This exceptional Primitivo stands for power, depth and expressiveness. The grapes are picked exclusively by hand and carefully selected in the vineyard so that only the best grapes are used for this edition. The harvest is deliberately only carried out at the beginning of October in order to achieve the highest possible concentration of aromas. At this point, the grapes have already naturally lost some of their liquid and are therefore particularly concentrated and intensely flavored. After fermentation, the wine is first aged in oak barrels for 12 months and then in the bottle for at least another 12 months, giving it additional depth, structure and complexity.

Tasting note
In the glass, the wine is deep ruby red with an almost black core. On the nose, an intense bouquet of ripe fruits such as plums, dark cherries and blackberries unfolds, accompanied by spicy pepper notes. The aging in wood also creates fine sweet spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine is powerful and dense, with spicy notes and notes of licorice, tobacco and vanilla. The balance between lush fruit, fresh acidity and well-integrated tannin structure is particularly impressive. The aftertaste is long, intense and lasting.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with game and grilled meat
Vinification
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and rigorously selected in the vineyard. Due to the deliberately late harvest at the beginning of October, they achieve a particularly high concentration of aromas, as the berries are already slightly dried and therefore develop more intense aromas. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 12 months and then in the bottle for at least 12 months, giving it additional structure, harmony and complexity.
