Tasting note
The Porcupine Ridge Syrah is dark purple almost black like ink in a glass and spoils the nose with classic intense aromas of dark fruits, perfume of fragrant violets and a touch of pepper. Delicious nuances of ripe blackberry, spicy clove, nutmeg and star anise unfold on the palate. Ripe tannins and good structure ensure a long finish with a full body and strong intensity. A spicy, ripe and well-structured Syrah with elegant influences.

Vinification
From the well-known South African winery Boekenhoutskloof, Porcupine Ridge Syrah is a single-varietal red wine that shines with considerable complexity and an extract-rich structure. The high-quality grapes come from a remote location at high altitudes in Franschhoek and thrive on weathered granite soil with sandy soil. Like the rest of the South African cult winery, Porcupine Ridge Syrah is characterized by an outstanding balance of fruit typical of the grape variety and the specific characteristics of the terroir. The red wine ages in French barriques for nine months and therefore reveals a particularly rich, dense structure.
