About the wine

The Nebbiolo grapes for the “Plozza IGT” all come from 50-60-year-old vines and are dried before pressing. The “Plozza IGT” is filled twice in new barriques. This process only makes sense if the grapes are of the highest quality and have enough aroma.

Tasting note
The delicate flavor panorama is wide-ranging and intense. Faded violets and ripe fruits dominate, but soon they tend towards tobacco scent and leather nuances. Stately on the palate, reinforced by a long-lasting finish with tart tannins. It comes in a luxurious bottle with a rustic brass label and waits patiently — as a true meditation wine — in valuable wooden packaging for the wine connoisseur.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game, ripe cheese, pizzoccheri, lamb, duck.
Vinification
For the production of top wine Plozza I.G.T., which is only produced in the best vintages, Nebbiolo grapes are used, which ripen on vines that are almost 100 years old and dry in boxes for three months before pressing — as in Sforzato production. The aging of 24 months in new French wooden barrels, ten months in the first new barrique and fourteen months in the second new barrel is of fundamental importance. We like to call this refilling method the “200% barrique method”. We are well aware that this ripening process only makes sense if the grapes are of the highest quality and have a fruit intensity that can create a perfect balance with the delicate roasted aromas.
