About the wine
In 1904, the winegrowers around Alba joined forces to form a cooperative. The young Alfredo Prunotto was also there. But the First World War ruined all dreams. During this time of crisis, Alfredo met his wife Luigina. With combined passion, the two have rebuilt the company under their family name.
Tasting note
Intense ruby red with purple reflections. Charming and intense on the nose. Prunes, rum pot, raisins and undergrowth notes. On the palate, it is wonderfully rich and delicious. Typical of the variety with robust tannins. The acid is present but well integrated. Delicate palate aromas, again lots of dark fruit and spicy notes. Long, meaty aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Very easy with pasta, risotto and meat.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes come from the “Occhetti” single vineyard. After pressing, the juice is fermented in wooden vats. This is followed by a ten-month aging in barriques and, after bottling, a few months of bottling.
