To get a feel for the hilly and mountainous landscape beauty in Lower Austria, there is no way around this red wine, which the Austrian Weingut Schloss Gobelsburg masters with a keen sense of texture. With the provocative red wine 2013 — Merlot Privatkeller, nuances and accents are redefined. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you offer this Merlot with duck or slightly spicy red meat.

Tasting note
Fine black berry fruit, cherries and a touch of plums, plus some nougat. Juicy, elegant, with pleasant sweetness extract. Present, well-integrated tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with traditional goulash juice, roast onions, but also game dishes and semi-hard and hard cheeses.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: The manually picked grapes are placed very carefully in stackable boxes. Once at the winery, they are once again sorted and destemmed. This is followed by a short cold stand time in order to achieve optimum extraction. Fermentation then takes place in open fermentation vats. After pressing, the young wine is aged in small oak barrels made of wood from Manhartsberg for 18 to 24 months. After bottling, the wine matures in the bottle for another 6 months before being sold.
