About the wine
Telmo Rodriguez and Pablo Eguzkiza, studied at the world's largest wineries, such as Petrus, and worked on new icons himself, such as Remelluri or Dominus. Only great things can happen when they come together and work together. Terroir — absolutely! But individual layers? Tasting note
The refreshing aromas of Matallana DO of black cherry, chocolate and cooked blackberry express a lot of finesse with a very special structure. Afterwards, the refreshing nuances of prunes, cloves and marmalade show their own character. Its elegant ruby red crowns every festive occasion with style and magic. You won't find this color in any color catalog. With subdued, finely developed tannins, strong body and present acidity, this fruity red wine presents its flawless texture.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Matallana DO goes perfectly with red meat, lasagna and pizza. Our recommendation: Drink this red wine at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The ideal time to enjoy this wine is in the following period: Now until 2034.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: Very selective harvest by hand. Fermentation with vineyard yeast in large wooden vats, aging in mainly used small acorn barrels (225l) and tonneaux.
