The grapes are carefully selected and vinified into a powerful base wine, which is traditionally refined to Marsala by adding wine alcohol. However, the real essence of this wine lies in its extraordinary aging process: On November 22, 2006, the Marsala was placed in a single large wooden barrel (26DAG), which is located around 134 meters from the sea in the historic Cantina Garibaldi. There, it matured for more than 17 years under the special microclimatic conditions of the old Baglio vaults — characterized by proximity to the sea, constant air circulation and natural temperature fluctuations. During this long aging period, the so-called Angel's Share played a central role: Around 33% of the wine evaporated over the years. This natural concentration process gave Marsala additional depth, structure and aromatic intensity. In the end, only 2,533 bottles could be filled from this single cask — a strictly limited, almost rare edition that impressively underlines the uniqueness of this Marsala vergine.
