About the wine
The Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia winery was able to build up an excellent reputation within a short period of time, with many famous names from Antinori to Mondavi taking part here. Le Volte, the first release of Ornellaia, is now a cult wine.

Tasting note
Dense, rich ruby. Expressive, fruity and fresh on the nose. Lots of black fruit, plums, warm spices, some cassis. Sophisticated and elegant on the palate, with the necessary strength to prove that it is not a blender despite an intensely fruity nose. Extremely balanced, accessible and harmonious.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta with coniglio, or scaloppine al lime.
Vinification
The vinification was carried out separately in small steel tanks in order to take account of the respective character of the different grape varieties during the fermentation phases. Alcoholic fermentation was followed by malolactic fermentation, again in steel. The 10-month aging took place partly in 2-4 year old barriques in third layers, which were previously covered with Ornellaia, and partly in cement tanks to maintain a perfect balance between tannin structure and the expression of the fruit.
