About the wine
The family has worked carefully over the years to develop the wines and always made sure to preserve the typical nature of the soil in each of the wines. Vin edos de Paganos is the youngest winery owned by the Eguren family. It was only purchased a few years ago, but the vineyards are planted with 30-year-old vines. El Puntid o was first pressed in 2001 and was awarded 95 Winespectator points.

Tasting note
Oracle - what a fascinating, sublime, inviolable and balanced phenomenon is that, something whole, very big, the red fruit, of depth and authority, dark, calm, very deep background - just as curse as blessing, this dark bitter depth, and above that mild, warm harmony. On the palate again this infallible truth, what a balance, thoughtfully and yet with a lot of authority, weight and decisively presented, even the bitter facts, harsh and obscure, but the longer, the more balanced the verdict becomes apparent and for so long it has an effect. Very big!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: La Nieta DOCa passt ideal zu Barbecue, rotem Fleisch und Polenta.
Vinification
Very selective reading and destemming by hand. Cold maceration of whole grapes, fermentation in large oak vats, pressing with feet, aging and aging for up to 18 months in new, small French oak barrels from Bordelaise
