About the wine
Like all other Valais specialities, Humagne Rouge is a rarity and difficult to find. The Humagne rouge combines the finesse of Pinot Noir and the structure of Bordeaux. Its strong berry note and a light shade of pepper make this wine a discovery for every wine lover. The red humagne is not related to the white humagne at all. The ampelographers see him as a representative of the old Oriou (Petit Rouge) variety from the Aosta Valley. www.mathier.ch

Tasting note
Strong berry notes and a slight peppery tone. Slim at the start, present in the middle section and long at the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Meat dishes, especially game, but also cheese, especially soft cheese.
Vinification
Traditional mash fermentation. Expansion in steel tanks.
