Tasting note
The Follow the Line always shows aromatic purity, strawberries, cherries, rose petals and violets. The 2022 vintage shows all of this with a little more texture and richness thanks to the warmer vintage. The vines have adapted perfectly to the challenges and produced an extremely complex wine with the characteristic freshness of the granitic soils.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with seafood, rabbit, saffron and chicken paella.
Vinification
The eighth year of 'Follow The Line' continues to be one of the most respected cinsaults made from old vines in South Africa. As always, the fruit comes from 41-year-old bush vines in Darling, which grow on decomposed granite soils. 50% of the 2022 is spontaneously fermented as a whole bunch of grapes. The Follow the Line then underwent malolactic fermentation in old 500-liter French oak barrels and then spent nine months in Foudres with a capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 liters and clay amphoras.
