About the wine
You can describe the landscape of the Bündner Herrschaft with such words as mountainous or hilly. However, the Swiss winery Weinbau von Salis is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this white wine. We think he succeeded! With this dominant Chardonnay 2017 — Flascher Meta AOC, the term flavor takes on a new meaning. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Chardonnay with goat cheese or poultry.

Tasting note
The aromas of the two types of grapes come together wonderfully in wine. The delicate floral scents and light herbal spice of Viognier combine with quince and pineapple tones of Chardonnay to create a fascinating, lively overall picture. On the palate, Meta surprises with its power, which goes hand in hand with lots of creamy texture and gives the wine an almost southern charm. It ends in a very balanced and long way with aromas of quince and flowers.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty starters, fish and light meat dishes.
Vinification
Elaborate manual harvesting, maceration time of approx. 6 hours, gentle pressing, clarification of the must using gravity, fermentation and aging in French barriques (approx. 30% new wood) for 10 months.
