Tasting note
The ruby red Etna Rosso is complex and wild with clear notes of: cranberries, blackberries, roses and wild herbs, which go hand in hand with mineral, earthy influences and dry wood. What is already precise and clear in the scent is supported on the palate by brilliant tartaric acid and a firm but fine-grained tannin.
Culinary recommendation
Red meat fried too short, with game fowl, grilled vegetables or aged cheese.
Vinification
The Emiliano Falsini 'Feudo Pignatone' Etna Rosso 2019 comes from an approximately 100-year-old vineyard near Randazzo. The mixed set with Nerello Mascalese and smaller portions of Nerello Cappuccino is around 700 meters above sea level. The grapes were picked by hand from the individual vines and fermented as whole grapes in the winery. After fermentation, the wine was first aged in used barriques for 12 months and then in cement tanks for half a year. Biologically developed.
