About the wine
If Valentine's Day was a wine, it would definitely be the provocative Grenache 2018 — El Rebolón. Picturesque and magnificent landscapes of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon) give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Spanish winery Mengoba conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a dining experience when you serve this grenache with spicy dishes or burgers with blue cheese.

Tasting note
Very expressive on the nose with ripe fruit aromas and a distinctive earthy character. The scent of cherry and plum is mixed with notes of forest soil, spices, tobacco and licorice. Each time you hold your nose over the glass, the wine reveals new facets. Rebolón appears fresher in the mouth than the ripe, heavy aroma on the nose would suggest. It is precise, with an invigorating acidity and wonderfully polished tannin. The long finale again shows both a fruity and an earthy and herbal side.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aged cheese, mushrooms, grilled meats, fine pieces of meat
Vinification
Hand harvesting and careful selection. The grapes are placed whole in a 1500 liter wooden barrel and tamped with the feet. The subsequent fermentation takes around 40 days. The wine is then aged in two 500-liter barrels for 18 months.
