Tasting note
Dark ruby red with purple reflections. Intense, complex and pleasantly scented on the nose. There are aromas of dark berries, cloves, some gingerbread spice and brown bread as well as fine roasted notes. Very complex on the palate and succulent, typical of the grape variety. With finely polished, backbone-giving tannins. The palate aromas include warm spices, cedarwood, black cherries and plums. The finish is complex, robust and long.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with braised rabbits, game and grilled specialities.
Vinification
The best portions of Rosso Conero layers are used for this cru. After harvesting by hand, the grapes are immediately crushed. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged for twelve to 14 months in French barriques and in the bottle for a further seven months.
