About the wine

Lux Vina stands for the best wines from the Domaines Chevaliers winery. Patrick Z'Brun and his winemaker Christian Gfeller have selected the most outstanding vineyards for this purpose. In some cases, old, hard-to-reach terraces were revitalized and dry stone walls were restored. The oldest Lux Vina vines are well over 50 years old and produce small yields but extremely complex grapes. Lux Vina is intended to provide an adequate stage for the incredible quality potential of these vineyards, which lie on calcareous and rocky soils between Salgesch and Chamoson. Seven wines impressively demonstrate how the fascinating light of the Alps allows wines with very specific origins to grow. The Vins des Chevaliers brand, which has been established for many decades, is of course retained and continues to stand for reliable quality. Rooted, high-quality, pioneering — that is Lux Vina from Domaines Chevaliers.

Tasting note
Already the register from Anniviers from 1313, but also Sébastien Münster in 1544, attest to this dark-colored wine called Neyrun. The name probably comes from the hamlet of Neyran in the Aosta Valley. In fact, Cornalin's parents also come from this valley: the “Petit Rouge” and “Mayolet” grape varieties. A silent force. An iron hand in kid gloves. Reddish-purple color. Fine and racy on the nose. Smells of sweet spices, blackberries, cherries, sour cherries and licorice Elegant, racy and very beautifully drawn on the palate. The complex aromas that are perceived on the nose are repeated on the palate. A tender, velvety texture with fine coated tannins. The precise wood finish underlines the distinctive and unique fruitiness of Cornalin and gives the whole thing a multi-dimensional length. The aftertaste is fresh, tasty and tonic, almost mineral. A perfect example of Cornalin's quality potential, this Neyrun is a perfect example of the size of the “Rouge du Pays”.
