Tasting note
The nose shows aromas of ripe red and black fruits (blackberry and plum). The fruity notes are complemented by mineral notes of graphite, spices and peppery notes. On the palate, Prestigio shows a lot of melting and a complex, dense tannin structure.
Culinary recommendation
The perfect accompaniment to the intense roasted aromas of grilled dishes — whether steaks, vegetables, BBQ pieces or poultry. Excellent with mature hard cheese — from Parmigiano Reggiano to Sbrinz to pecorino or older alpine cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for the Prestigio are harvested by hand in 12kg crates and quickly transported to the cellar's cold storage. There, the grapes are cooled before destemming to enable careful further processing. The traditional maceration takes place in large wooden barrels before the Prestigio is aged for 16 months in French and American barriques.
