Cinquesse Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2021 - Jerzu Antichi Poderi

Antichi Poderi di Jerzu is the cooperative winery founded in 1950 in the south-eastern part of Sardinia, which enables over 400 small farmers to sell their crops at decent prices. The oenologist is Franco Bernabei, who has accompanied the winery for over twenty years and has made it one of the leading producers on the island. The Cannonau Cinquesse is dedicated to the Sardinian artist Maria Lai (1919-2013), an extremely versatile artist famous beyond Sardinia and Italy, daughter of this unique landscape. The vines are located at over 400 m above sea level, are at least 30 years old and the grapes are of course harvested by hand. The fermentation of the mash takes place in wooden barrels followed by aging in small French oak barrels for at least 6 months. It is a wine of great density, opulence without being heavy. The richness on the palate is framed by an elegant framework of ripe and fine tannins.
