About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Bibbiano masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of Tuscany. This snappy Sangiovese 2014 — Chianti Classico Montornello DOCG is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Sangiovese can be served very well with lamb or pizza.
Tasting note
Montornello is produced from Sangiovese grapes from the vineyard called Montornello, which consists of a platform with loose and medium-heavy soil. Aged in French barrels for twelve months. The Montornello has a particularly intense ruby red color with violet tones. Menthol-like and fruity notes characterize its bouquet, on the palate it is full-bodied, soft and elegant with well-balanced tannins.

With spinach gnocchi with sage or braised garlic chicken
Vinification
Read by hand. The Chianti Classico from the “Montornello” vineyard matures for 9 months in Slavonian oak barrels. And then in the bottle for 4 months.
