About the wine
If you want to surprise a wine connoisseur, then with this mild Viognier 2017 — Chenin Blanc FIVE G! The winemaker from the South African winery Cederberg greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this viognier with potatoes or roasted poultry in lemon sauce.

Tasting note
A complex chenin blanc with pure fruit aromas, baked apples and delicate spices, complemented by roasted almonds and citrus notes. A great balance between fruit and oak with a creamy and lively finish.
Culinary recommendation
Fantastic wine with sage ravioli with nut butter, porcini risotto or an African smoorsnoek. It also goes very well with a Gruyere.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand early in the morning at 23.5 Oechsle. One part of the grapes is pressed as a whole bundle, the other part is squeezed and left on the skin. After settling, spontaneous fermentation takes place in 400 l French oak barrels for the next 40-60 days under strict temperature control. The wine is then aged on fine lees for 10 months and is bottled without malolactic fermentation.
