The winemaker from the Carmel Winery winery greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside. For Valentine's Day, we recommend the strong Shiraz 2018 — Carmel Mediterranean! Flaschenpost team promises a dining experience when you serve this Shiraz with roasted vegetables or barbecue.

Tasting note
The “Carmel Mediterranean” convinces with its deep purple color and is characterized by the scent of black plums, raspberries and ripe cherries, full-bodied and rich, with a long and balanced finish. The wine highlights the elegance and balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. A “Mediterranean” will improve in the bottle under suitable conditions over a number of years and will remain in excellent drinking condition.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast goose, casseroles and cheese.
Vinification
The wine consists of a blend of Carignan, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Mourvèdre, Petite Syrah and a little Malbec varieties. The grapes come from the best wine-growing regions in Israel, which are mostly in the Upper Galilee region, and from old vineyards from the Judean Mountains region. The various juices were stored separately for 7 months. After the final blend has been decided, the wine is aged in oak barrels for a further 8 months. The wine matures in French oak barrels for a total of 15 months.
