About the wine
The story of Mount Eden Vineyards began with winemaker Martin Ray, who began planting vines on a ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1945. Today, this winery comprises 16 hectares, which are mainly planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mount Eden is said to have the longest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir tradition in North America. Since 1981, it has been managed by Jeffrey Patterson, who is responsible for the consistently high wine quality, which is even comparable to that of Monte Bello Ridge.

Tasting note
The nose opens with aromas of cranberries, cassis, roses, dried herbs, tobacco and leather. On the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon is extremely elegant with a great deal of finesse and freshness. The youthful yet accessible tannins give the red wine a medium-weight body. Stunningly long-lasting and complex finish. Anyone who can resist will be more than rewarded from 2030!

Vinification
The must is manually mashed in small stainless steel tanks and macerated six to ten days after fermentation is complete. 50% of the 24-month barrique aging takes place in French and 50% American wood, with 50% new timber. During aging, the new wine is separated from sediment three to four times a year and bottling takes place without filtration.
