About the wine
This unique cuvée of Tempranillo, Tannat and a touch of Petite Sirah (Durif) combines dark fruit aromas with rustic charm and powerful structure. The grape varieties, originally from Spain, Portugal and southwestern France, were introduced to the Cape because of their robustness and heat resistance — with success! The result: a powerful, expressive wine with spicy depth, ripe tannin and storage potential. A real taste experience — as intense as a TNT explosion in a glass!

Tasting note
Deep burgundy with ripe plums and inviting spices made from black pepper, cloves and French herbs. On the palate, it is dense with blackcurrants, cinnamon and a touch of herbaceous fynbos. This wine is full-bodied with balanced and chalky tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with all African-inspired “braai” dishes. Enjoy it with hearty Moroccan-inspired dishes such as lamb or chicken tagines with grilled vegetables and couscous. Or simply a platter of hummus, biltong and cheese (blue cheese, brie cheese or spicy cream cheese) over the fire.
Vinification
The grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented separately in open wooden barrels and concrete tanks. The grenache was fermented with 10% whole grapes. During fermentation, pumping and repumping (pigeage) were carried out three to four times a day to extract flavor, color and tannins from the berries. Finally, the wine was pressed and aged in oak barrels for 18 months. Mainly aged oak barrels were used.
