Bossa Nova Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs 1er Cru AC 2024 - Guillaume Sergent

2021 was not an easy wine year. Extremely difficult weather conditions throughout most of the year resulted in major crop failures, even at Guillaume Sergent. For example, he was unable to produce his cuvée “Le Chemin des Chapes” this year and he decided to marry the few grapes from the two eponymous individual layers of this cuvée, together with grapes from other areas, to form a new wine, therefore “Bossa Nova”, which translates as “New Wave” and is synonymous with the combination of two (music) styles and with the addition “Cuvée Serendip” on a The search for but ultimately a happy coincidence refers. A blanc de noirs composed of Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes, partly aged in wooden barrels. The result is a characterful, inviting champagne, with aromas of juicy pome fruit, yellow cherries, wild berries and citrus fruits, surrounded by fine-tart chalk tones and spicy, delicately smoky nut notes.
