Le Gonnare is a very small vineyard that Fabio Motta was able to acquire in 2012. It is located 50 m above sea level and consists of 85 percent Merlot and 15 percent Syrah vines - a classic blend for the Bolgheri appellation. Thanks to its orientation to the east, the large afternoon heat does not fall as strongly in the vineyard, the grapes ripen more harmoniously. Of course, Fabio Motta harvests its grapes by hand, fermentation is carried out by spontaneous yeasts, and for aging to maturity, Motta fills the young wine into barriques, one third of which are new. The wine is dense, complex and juicy on the palate, where the black-fruited berry notes linger for a long time.
