Tasting note
The nose shows an intense aroma of ripe fruit — plums, raisins and blackberries — harmoniously interwoven with spicy notes of coffee, roasted almonds and fine vanilla. On the palate, Finca el Aprisco is fine and elegant: a soft, creamy start, followed by a long, silky finish that ends with fine tannins and fresh minerality.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef — from steaks to stroganoff to tartare or slow-cooked roast from the oven. Wonderful accompaniment to all kinds of stews — whether it's lamb gigot, beef shoulder, roast pork or ossobuco. Goes well with various types of blue cheese — from Gorgonzola to Roquefort to Blue Stilton.
Vinification
The Finca el Aprisco vineyard is a spectacular location in La Rioja Alta. On calcareous, rocky soils at an altitude of 480 meters, old vines grow here, producing grapes of incomparable quality. After 12 months in fine French oak barrels and a further 24 months of bottle aging, the result is a wine of exceptional depth and elegance. Its complex structure, intense aromas and delicate balance reflect the unique terroir and passion that goes into every bottle.
