About the wine
Luigi Einaudi was an economist, university teacher, journalist and democrat, as well as the second president of the “Repubblica Italiana”. He is the founder of the traditional Poderi Luigi Einaudi winery in Dogliani in Piedmont. After his death in 1961, the estate was somewhat neglected, but in the 80s his granddaughter Paola Einaudi took over the management and brought it back to its former glory. Today, her son, Matteo Sardagna Einaudi, continues the story and has turned it into one of the most prominent wineries in Piedmont, with the credo “eleganza e territorialità”, which is reflected in his wines.

Tasting note
A bright garnet red already indicates the intensity of this wine. On the nose, a lively bouquet of red fruits, blood orange, fine chalk notes, fresh mint and dried flowers unfolds. On the palate, it is elegant and complex with impressive structure and depth. The lively acidity provides freshness, while fine, well-integrated tannins provide a harmonious and long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
With hearty dishes with red meat, with mushroom dishes, with hard cheese. Or enjoy it as a meditation wine.
Vinification
Carefully vinified in glass-coated concrete tanks and fermented at a controlled temperature, this wine develops its full aromatic depth. A maceration period of several weeks after fermentation gives it additional structure and complexity. The subsequent aging of several months in French oak barrels provides elegant wood notes and a harmonious balance. Rounded off by further refinement in the bottle, the result is a wine of exceptional finesse and character.
