With the snappy Nebbiolo 2012 — Barolo Margheria Serralunga DOCG, you can offer your guests something very special. The winemaker from the Italian winery Azelia - Luigi Scavino is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the sunny and blooming Piedmont countryside. Tasting note
The Margheria is located in the middle of the vines of the Barolo community of Serralunga d'Alba. The plot of Azienda Azelia, which covers almost 2 hectares, is partly planted with 65-year-old vines. Lorella, Luigi and Lorenzo Scavino use this to obtain the grapes for their Barolo Margheria. Highly concentrated, they produce a wine with strong aromas reminiscent of black fruits, licorice and spices. Like all baroli in this Azienda, the juice stays in contact with the berry skins and seeds for up to 60 days in order to absorb a maximum of extractive substances in the wine.

Vinification
Die Vinifikation fand wie folgt statt: Luigi Scavino ist ein Präzisionswinzer mit dem Glück, Besitzer von prominentesten Reblagen zu sein: Bricco Rocche und Bricco Fiasco. Mit extrem niedrigen Erträgen beeinflusst er die Dichte seiner Weine, was dann in ein wahrhaftes Konzentrat mündet. Luigi Scavino gelingt es selbst in schwierigen Jahren, hervorragende "Weine zu produzieren; ein Beweis für sein meisterhaftes Können", aber auch für die erstrangige Güte seiner Grundstücke. Sein Barolo ist eine Assemblage der beiden Spitzenlagen, die gleichermassen für ihre mächtig strukturierten Weine berühmt sind. Der Ausbau erfolgt in grossen Eichfässern, so dass die raffinierte Aromatik der Nebbiolotrauben voll zu Ausdruck kommt.
