About the wine

If you're looking for something special, then you can't miss out on this snappy Nebbiolo 2013 — Barolo DOCG. The fertile and sunny landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Cantina Borgogno conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Nebbiolo with prosciutto or pizza.

BioItem no. 1214940
Tasting note
Light ruby red with brick-red border. An expressive, persistent and complex bouquet of ripe cherries, dried plums, spices, caramel and cedarwood. Balanced and profound on the palate with intense aromas and distinctive delicate tannins. A dry yet velvety wine with a worthy finale.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, stews, truffles, game.
Vinification
After being harvested by hand in the five historic vineyards in the municipality of Barolo, the grapes are destemmed and pressed in the cellar. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation in large cement tanks at a temperature of between 22° and 28° for around 15 days. This is followed by a 20-day maceration in cement containers under water, during which malolactic fermentation also takes place. The wine is transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels, where it ages for over 24 months. This is followed by the transition to cement and bottling.
