About the wine
In 1904, the winegrowers around Alba joined forces to form a cooperative. The young Alfredo Prunotto was also there. But the First World War ruined all dreams. During this time of crisis, Alfredo met his wife Luigina. With combined passion, the two have rebuilt the company under their family name.
Tasting note
Dark, bright ruby red. On the nose, a very open, intense and delicately spicy berry aroma. Medium-bodied, fresh, fruity and easily accessible on the palate. Good, harmonizing tannin-acid game. A charming berry fruit with subtle spicy notes. Medium length, refreshingly elegant
Culinary recommendation
Perfect for pasta or bollito misto.
Vinification
The Barbera grapes are pressed immediately after harvesting. Mash fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged for ten months in large oak barrels of 100 hl and rests in the bottle for a further four months.
