About the wine
Walter Massa met with a lot of incomprehension and shaking of his head in the 1980s when he decided to use the autochthonous Timorasso grape variety. It is mainly thanks to him that the variety is now being cultivated again by several winemakers in Piedmont. Walter Massa doesn't think much of fashion trends, but is nevertheless open to innovation. With great commitment and dedication to this variety, he brought in the first harvest of a single-varietal Timorasso in 1987.

Tasting note
Ruby red color. Ripe fruit of plums, dried berries, raisins and sandalwood as well as fine spicy notes on the nose. The palate is strong with ripe tannin structure and delicate balsamic notes. Comfortable concentration. This Barbera lasts a long time on ripe fruit.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with rich meat dishes, game, lamb and aged cheese.
Vinification
The grapes come from the Bigolla single vineyard. Handpicked, traditionally vinified with native yeasts. Aged in French oak barrels for 16 to 22 months and then in the bottle for at least one year. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
