Tasting note
Deep, dense purple color with purple reflections. Intense aromas of coconut and black fruit with hints of chocolate and spices. Strawberry on the palate, with a velvety mouthfeel, a bouquet of red fruits with a buttery finish and subtle tannins with a hint of vanilla from its time in new French oak barrels. It is an ideal accompaniment to game and intensive dishes. Carafe about half an hour before serving.
Vinification
Traditional fermentation over 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks. Stir every 4 hours for the entire 24 hours to achieve gentle maceration. Malolactic fermentation. Ageing: 24 months in 225 liters of French oak (100% new). Ageing: 24 months in bottle before release to the market. Limited production for 2014:1,800 750 ml bottles and 150 1.5 liter bottles.
