About the wine
With the powerful Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 — Babylonstoren Nebukadnesar, nuances and accents are redefined. Enchanting and sunny landscapes of the coastal region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the South African winery Babylonstoren conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
The Nebuchadnesar appears in the glass with a deep, rich, dark ruby red. Fine bouquet of violets and thyme, intense blackcurrant and cigar box. Excellent on the palate, with a good balance of lively, complex dark red fruits, supported by firm, well-balanced tannins. The oak wood is easy to handle. Opulent yet sophisticated with a long, convincing finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast beef or kudu fillet with red wine sauce, roast lamb with rosemary or venison carpaccio with grated Parmesan.
Vinification
The grapes were vinified separately and aged in French oak barrels for 23 months. After the assemblage, wine was then aged in stainless steel tanks for one month before being bottled and stored in the bottle for another 5 months.
