About the wine
With sensitivity and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Santi masters this red wine in the fertile and blooming countryside of Veneto. With the fine Amarone della Valpolicella DOC, which was produced in 2013, you will certainly have a lot of fun.
Tasting note
Intense bouquet with notes of prunes, raisins, cinnamon, cloves and cherry jam. Full-bodied, velvety, slightly spicy, with elegant notes of precious wood. A typical Amarone aftertaste of grilled almonds. Dense, dark garnet robe.
Culinary recommendation
Amarone can be served with pride on a wide range of occasions: over a cozy fireplace, as an accompaniment to a lively discussion, but also with venison loin teriyaki sauce, with duck breast with blackcurrant vinegar or with pork medallions with cranberry sauce.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: In order to achieve a natural concentration, the grapes are air-dried in roof canes. Before fermentation, which lasts around one month at the end of January, the grapes are crushed. The Amarone is aged for at least 3 years in large wooden barrels. He then enjoys a bottle rest for 6 months before being released on the market.
