About the wine
The “Stäga” is an important name and the first bottles with this name were bottled in Chur as early as 1895. The oldest example is from 1924 and the new appearance was realized in April 2014.

Tasting note
Dark garnet red. Deep, spicy bouquet of dark berries & a little cedar wood. Balanced, elegant palate with delicate fruit and sweet aromas. Long, full finish
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, veal and poultry. With hearty stews, crispy rösti with cheese and bacon, with medium-aged cheese served with honey or fruit jam. It can also simply be some raw ham, bread and cheese.
Vinification
15-day mash fermentation in steel tanks and aging for 12 months in 3000 liter oak barrels from France. A minimal portion is “flavored” in barriques for 6 months and is added again at the end. The wine is still in the bottle for 10 months. The “Stäga” is an important name and the first bottles with this name were bottled in Chur as early as 1895.
