The Zacapa No. 23 Solera Gran Reserva is a premium rum from Guatemala, produced by the Licorera Zacapaneca, which has existed since 1930. In contrast to many other rums, it is not made from molasses or fresh sugar cane juice, but from sugar cane syrup, also known as virgin sugar cane honey. At an altitude of 2300 meters in Quetzaltenango, this exclusive rum matures for up to 23 years in carefully selected white oak barrels, which previously contained bourbon, Pedro Ximénez and sherry from Jerez. Like many Zacapa rums, No. 23 is the work of experienced master blender Lorenza Vásquez, who has spent her entire career in this company.
