About the product

In the Wachau region, the soil and climate offer the best conditions for apricots to develop their aromas. The fruits are sourced exclusively from the region, and only the most valuable varieties “Klosterneuburger” and “Ungarische Beste”. It is only harvested when the apricots themselves fall from the tree, orange-yellow, with intense reddening and juicy down to the core. Only then will they have the aroma for a top-quality brand. The hand-picked apricots are crushed on site on the day of harvest. According to old tradition, the naturally fermented, additive-free mash is fired very carefully twice in a copper kettle. The recovered heart is then stored in open glass balloons for at least four years. During this time, Rochelt schnapps ripens, becomes smooth and mild at the same time, dense and strong, with an abundance of ripe apricot aromas. Rochelt s Wachauer apricot is a 100% pure and unfiltered distillate.
