About the wine

Do you already know the outstanding Sangiovese Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG born in 2013? If not, it's time! The fertile and blooming Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Cantina Lombardo conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this Sangiovese with beef or lamb.

Tasting note
Giacinto Lombardo's new cellar is located in the former monastery that dominates the village of Gracciano di Montepulciano. Here, his Vino Nobile di Montepulciano matures in new, large Slavonian oak barrels. Giacinto deliberately refrains from using barriques, which are now found everywhere: Well-aged Prugnolo gentile (17th century clone of Sangiovese, with which the Montepulciano vino earned the addition “Nobile” at the time) has enough tannin and an extremely rich aroma to produce authentic wine and, as such, to exist “unvarnished”. Lombardo only uses Prugnolo gentile for its Vino Nobile, leaving aside the other common Mammolo and Canaiolo varieties in order to gain clarity and sophisticated expression.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with lamb, beef, veal, venison, pork, grilled meat.
Vinification
