About the wine
With the outstanding Nebbiolo 2020 — Vesper Rosso di Valtellina DOC, nuances and accents are redefined. The fertile and enchanting landscapes of Lombardy give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Convento San Lorenzo conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
Vespers spoil the nose with an enticing bouquet of red berries, which are complemented by subtle nuances of undergrowth and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is young and fresh, with lively acidity that underlines the fruitiness. This wine is characterized by its pleasing structure and its pleasant drinkability, which makes it an ideal and uncomplicated companion for various occasions.
Culinary recommendation
Wonderful with antipasti in all forms — from olives to pickles to vitello tonnato and bruschette. It goes very well with pork in a wide variety of variations — from short roasts to roasts and sweet and sour dishes.
Vinification
Vespers is a god of Greek mythology, the personification of evening light. The south-facing, terraced vineyards around the San Lorenzo Monastery, at an average altitude of 500 meters, are pampered by the sun's rays from sunrise to sunset. Maceration on skins for 12 days, followed by aging for 6 months in 2500 liter barrels.
