About the wine
Marco de Bartoli is a personality, a figure in Sicily, father of the Renaissance Sicilian wines. With love and also a little anger and half his family, he has been fighting the big companies, the dishonest machinations and, above all, the decline of Marsala, which has degenerated into cheap wine in recent decades, forgetting all tradition - not so with Marco! In its two wineries in Marsala and on the island of Pantelleria, only autochthonous vines are cultivated, organic (certified) and, after careful selection, shaped into independent wines with a touching soul.

Tasting note
Oriental intellectual. Inspired by the wealth of the Orient, the sweet, full warmth, partially dried palm fruits, dates, raisins and nuts, the so proud, previous Oriental history, oxidative, yet free from dogmatic teachings, the word like a sword for freedom, a scent of vastness, the salty notes, the freshness takes away the heaviness of all sweetness. On the palate, a modernizer, daring to draw from the old, changing this, enlightenment, bright, the freshness and salty notes cut sharply smoothly through the oriental, no longer sugar-sweet fruit, nutty, horn, mineral, very salty, yet with such a clear, precise, fresh eloquence. Great, like a sherry from the Orient.
Vinification
Low yields, selective harvesting by hand. Fermentation with vineyard yeasts at ambient temperature, storage and maturation similar to the Solera system in oak and chestnut wood barrels, with some wine being removed and the barrels refilled with the new vintage, so that the wine consists of several vintages.
