About the wine
The Corteforte estate was built in the 14th century and originally consisted of four defensive towers surrounded by high walls. Back then, this was an important defense site against attacks from the north. Today, only one of the towers remains and since 1989 the Azienda Agricola has been owned by the Carlo Maria Cerutti family. In 1993, they pressed the first wine with a production of just 3,000 bottles. Since then, Corteforte wines have won several international awards.

Tasting note
Dense garnet red, rich, fruity bouquet reminiscent of cassis, forest soil, sour cherries and plums, with spicy notes of leather and pepper. Robust and complex body with fine tannins and nice length.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled and fried meat, ossobuco and bollito misto (boiled meat). It also goes well with strong and mature cheese.
Vinification
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 20 days, secondary fermentation the following April on the pomace of their Amarone. Ageing for one year in 350 and 500 l oak barrels (15% of which are new) and aged in bottles for at least one more year.
