Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2023 - Tenuta Santa Maria 1735

The Bertani family looks back on centuries of history: their ancestors founded the winery back in the 16th century and managed it for generations up to modern times. A few years ago, part of the family split up and founded the magnificent Tenuta Santa Maria to go their own way. With his Azienda, Gaetano Bertani, father of current patrons Giovanni and Guglielmo, has shaped a style that is considered a role model today: consistent focus on old local grape varieties and exemplary, quality-oriented viticulture. The vines are planted particularly densely and the yields per vine are deliberately kept low. This results in wines of great concentration and distinctive mineral structure, which yet retain their elegance and lightness. This applies in particular to the Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC, which exemplifies the tenuta's philosophy and expertise.
