About the wine
North of Verona, in the village of Negrar, at one of the highest points in the Valpolicella zone (350 m above sea level), the Le Ragose winery overlooks rolling, green hills. In 1969, oenologists Arnaldo and Marta Galli bought the 70-hectare abandoned estate Le Ragose. They recognized that many excellent vineyards were being abandoned in favor of easier to cultivate plots on the plain. So they replanted Le Ragose's vineyards and began cultivating and pressing Amarone and Valpolicella as naturally as possible.
Tasting note
Die markanten Aromen des Valpolicella Classico DOC von schwarzem Pfeffer und Vanille drücken viel Finesse mit einer ganz besonderen Struktur aus. Im Anschluss zeigen die erfrischenden Nuancen von Himbeere und grünem Paprika ihren eigenen Charakter. Ein fruchtiger Rotwein mit mittelkräftigem Körper und dominanter Säure, welcher angenehm mit fein ausgebauten Tanninen auf Zunge und im Gaumen seine vielschichtige Struktur entfaltet.
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Valpolicella Classico DOC harmoniert perfekt mit rezenten Käsearten, Wild und kräftigen Fleischgerichten.
