Silvano Follador is one of the very rare small wine producers in the Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOCG wine region; most of its competitors produce the fashionable drink in hundreds of thousands and millions of editions. That's just one of the side effects when wine suddenly becomes a trendy drink and the market is calling for ever cheaper products. The fact that this development continues and is even driving down prices for Prosecco from Eastern Europe today barely affects Silvano economically — perhaps emotionally. His products are sold excellently at fair and, for him, good prices. Silvano's production costs are high, because investments in the vineyard and cellar weigh on unit costs due to the low circulation, and he is also (almost the only one in this very large area) producing in accordance with biodynamic rules. But it is not the biodynamics themselves that fascinate us about this unsurpassable prosecco: rather, the passion that drives someone to do their utmost in a sea of faceless products to produce the added quality that true lovers feel and appreciate. Delicate aroma with notes of violet and apple blossom, very fresh, invigorating, stimulating. Fine perlage, flattering start, mineral race, very harmonious on the palate.
